Athletics Overview:
Blessed Sacrament School offers an extensive sports program to students in grades 5-8 and participates in the MAISL (Madison Area Independent Sports League). Girls play volleyball, basketball, softball and track. Boys play football, basketball, volleyball and track. We feel strongly that our children are students first and athletes second. As such, we have expectations for academic performance and require that students keep up with their classwork.Athletic Fees, Uniforms and Equipment:- Participation Fee: $100 per sport per athlete.
- Uniforms: Blessed Sacrament uniforms must be worn to the games or your child will not be allowed to play.
- Black basketball or athletic shorts are required (boys and girls).
- Spandex shorts are allowed for practice only—not in games or tournaments.
- Replacement Fee: If uniforms are not returned in a timely manner (1 week after the final game), or are returned in poor condition, the family will be billed the replacement cost via FACTS.
We will bill you for participation fees through FACTS at the beginning of each respective athletic season. The fee is $100/child for each sport ($60/child for Track). The sign-up deadline for each season will be published in the school eblast and on this page. Please respect the sign-up deadline - late fees of $25/student will be applied for sign-ups after the deadline.Family Fundraising Commitment:All families whose children are participating in BSS athletics are required to participate in fundraising activities. Our main fundraiser is the Spaghetti Dinner, scheduled on Jan. 31, 2026. Working at this event is mandatory for all athletes and a parent, so please mark your calendars now.Required Forms:You will need an Athletic Physical Card (or an Alternate Year Parent Permission Card). Typically, athletes in 5th and 7th grade (and all new athletes) need the doctor-signed Athletic Physical Card. If 6th and 8th grade students played the previous year, they may just need the "alternate year" parent- signed permission form. All forms can be accessed via the links on this page. You also need to review the Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Event information sheets. Forms are completed once per year, not per sport and are due by the sign-up deadline.
