Why the $5 million goal? And why now?The Blessed Sacrament School Endowment Fund has quietly supported our school for decades, but we have not conducted a dedicated fundraising campaign for the fund in many years. As a result, many parishioners, school families, and alumni may be unfamiliar with the endowment and the important role it plays in supporting our students. Our 2026 Endowment Fund Appeal is an opportunity to change that by raising awareness, celebrating the fund's impact, and building its capacity to serve our school for generations to come. Our goal is to grow the fund from its current balance of approximately $2.2 million to $5 million by 2030. Because annual distributions are based on the fund's five-year average balance, growing the endowment will increase the resources available to support Blessed Sacrament School
over time.
more of these needs could be addressed through planned annual distributions, reducing reliance on additional fundraising appeals for eligible projects and allowing the school to establish clearer priorities and timelines for future improvements. At a 5% distribution rate, a $5 million endowment could provide approximately $250,000 in annual support for the school (based on a 5-year average balance). Compare this to our current annual distribution average of around $65,000 - $75,000 and you can see what a tremendous difference this would make.
